New Memorial Plaque for Exercise Tiger
For the first time those lost during Exercise Tiger as part of the practises for D-Day are listed at the tank memorial at Torcross. The new panel tells the story of the build up to D-Day, the evacuation of the area, and the early morning of April 28th 1944 when the fleet of landing craft were attacked and sunk. It now includes the names of the US servicemen who gave their lives.
The Slapton Line Partnership worked with the representatives of the relatives of those involved with Exercise Tiger and the directors of Exercise Tiger Memorial in order to ensure that this was added to the site.
